Paint the Town Purple

Spring in Gwinnett is a time to focus on funding the cure for cancer through Relay for Life. Kasey and I once again joined efforts to help the vendors at Town Center Park in Suwanee raise funds for RFL. Our job was to bring in customers, so we offered free coloring and crafts to families to encourage them to shop at the park. The vendors of Town Center Park were graciously donating the nights proceeds to RFL. Visitors to our table were appreciative of the time we spent helping kids make treasure pockets. It also gave us the opportunity to share our positive experiences with USA Pageants.

Earth DayYard Sale - Relay for Life Fundraiser

Kasey and I teamed up again to raise funds for something dear to our heart, Relay for Life. We participated along with a GCPS Elementary School Junior Beta Club and sold baked goods. All of the proceeds went to RFL. Kasey and I both participated in the Gwinnett County RFL in support of friends and family that have been touched by cancer. I've included a list of those we honor for their memorable courage against cancer, and those that we continue to cheer for as they faithfully and courageously continue the battle.

Cheering and praying for Quentin, Jadica, Connie, Melissa, Angelica, Cole and Kathy.

In memory of Walter, Virgil, Eunice, Ray, Martha, Don, Mary, Lori and Judy.

While at the event we were happy to run into Janelle, Mrs. Gwinnett County USA, who fights for another cause near to my heart as well, girls self-esteem. You can learn more about Janelle's efforts to mold girls into self-confident leaders in my July 11 &22 Roots & Wings Camp blog entry .

Sycamore ES Spring Carnival

On April 20th, we spent an enjoyable evening promoting the Relay for Life team at Sycamore Elementary. Kasey and I handed out flyers and encouraged visitors at the Spring Fling to visit the Relay for Life table which offered fundraising items to benefit cancer research.

Miss Peach Blossom Benefit Pageant

Pageants are always a great way to collect charitable funds. I was honored to help my sister queen, Victoria with the Miss Peach Blossom pageant. Victoria's beauty showed inside and out through this experience as her hard work on the pageant made it enjoyable for girls of all ages. Joining Victoria and myself in this effort were Kristen, Kasey, Jessica, and Samantha. Our new friends looked beautiful on stage and a good time was had by all.
